In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, a parent/guardian must be notified when their child accumulates 5 days of unexcused absences within the school calendar year unless the child has documented medical justification for the time missed.
If a student is absent from school, please call school in the morning. You may leave a message on the school voicemail indicating the name of the child and the reason for the absence. If you are not able to call, please write a note from a parent or guardian. The note should state the reason for the absence. A note or telephone call is required whenever a student is absent. Without a note or telephone call, the absence is considered to be "unexcused". If your child is going to be out for an extended time, notify the school and the teacher will be able to put some materials aside for your child. Please call prior to coming for schoolwork so the teacher will have adequate time to organize the materials.
If at all possible, please schedule your vacations around school holidays.
